My Blog?

My Name is Susie, I'm 17 years of age and live in the lively city of Portland, hence the name. I'm brand new to the world of blogging so let's give it a go. I'll try to write about what I know which is dance, style, music, being young, and the terrible world which is high school. Stay tuned and maybe I'll catch your fancy.

And what is the theme of this post?

This photo screams summertime...I need it so badly!

Tuneage: Same as previous post from this weekend..plus an awful lot of Passion Pit and some Bikini Kill

So here are some pictures I took along with some really neat things I found on this world wide web. I suppose you could call this "inspiration"? I just was really fascinated by these images...

Once again, along the lines of the 1920's (this is probably due to my constant procrastination of writing my Great Gastby essay and blogging instead...)

A photo from a '59 Dior ad.

I adore this picture, why? I have no clue. I love the style...

So I saw this image and was inspired to go to the local saturday market...on a sunday.

There were really great ethnic bags, bangles, and rings at the market, as well as a plenty Hindu prayer bowls..

Celine and I also came upon a box of kittens for sale...

...They were unavoidably cute.

The cool kids in town.

I always wished I was best friends with Ferris...

Songs on repeat: Rain On and Night Creature- Woods. Service Bell- Fiest & Grizzly Bear. To be alone with you- Sufjan Stevens. Mad World- Michael Andrews.
We all have them, those gorgeous people that you can't help but rave about. It's different for everyone, whether it's a group of people you would kill to belong to, or that one girl you wish you could be, there is always somebody to envy. Eventually, we learn that these people aren't quite as fabulous as they seem, but in high school there seems to be that feeling that there is always someone better than you. One day, while pondering this phenomenon I asked my friends, "Do you have that group of people you wish you could be friends with? Or that one person that is so cool you just feel totally fucked in comparison to?" It seemed like everyone knew what I was talking about. It was different for each person I talked to but it came down to this: There is always someone you wish you could be somewhat like, or at least hope to be friends with. They usually consist of something we all hope to see in ourselves, we think that possibly if we could be friends with them, the "coolness" will rub off. The truth of this matter is, no matter how beautiful these people may seem, there is always someone better, someone who they wish they could be like too. As much as we hate to admit it, the cool kids really aren't as cool as we hope, and we truly are all in the same boat. To soak up the glamour of the classic cool kids, I have some images of the most fabulous people from the movies.

In honor of Sophmore English, The 1974 version of The Great Gatsby. I adore the 1920's fashion.
From a personal favorite, Dazed and Confused. Which reminds me, I have yet to find the perfect pair of high waisted shorts...

The Breakfast Club has some of the coolest kids of all time, and I am not talking about Molly Ringwald, Brian is probably the greatest nerd you'll ever see.

...Do you even have to ask?

Wishing you love, sunshine and all that's good.

How do you like them Apples? (A brief follow-up)

A blissful note on my last post...I recently took a trip to Aritzia and found the most amazing pieces. That Talula sweater I was sweating (haha pun) I found in a charcoal color, a size too big for me but I was informed it was the only one left in the entire country...Damn Canadians hogging all those lovely clothes for themselves. As well as some TNA items and a rad printed tank with naked hippies (who doesn't like that?). I will post pictures er...soon? And I am still brainstorming on some topics that will make for a deliciously interesting blog!

Keep you posted mon cheries!

The Apple(s) of my eye.

Talula Boxy Intarsia sweater and Washed Down Bloomer shorts

TNA spring '10 collection

Current Tunes: Grizzly Bear, Phosporescent, Beirut.

The weather is bleak and I am half asleep at 5: 47 pm on a Friday night, I feel a wild evening ahead. Despite my lack of interesting plans, I have decided to be somewhat proactive and work on this blogging thing. I have little interesting to write about at this moment besides my utter pessimism towards school, bleh. How I wish these two and a half months will zoom by so I can be spending my summer in New York, where school will be a strayed thought from my mind. While I can't make time move any faster then it is, I can think of more attainable wishes on my wishlist. Like some of the most precious pieces I have seen this season, so I thought I would share my lovely little finds with you.

Because I am totally and completely incapable of showing you these photos please flip through this look book and admire the beauty of it, I want EVERYTHING in the TNA and Talula sections so I recommend you hit those up if you want to see the styles I am majorly crushing on. Seriously if you want to see something beautiful, check the link:
